The world’s creators have no form that can be described; they are likely divine instruments. Their apocalyptic appearances throughout history nevertheless earned them the name Calamities. Once their work—creative and destructive in equal measure—was complete, the Calamities withdrew into the Abyss. There they lie dormant, separating the material world from the realm of dreams. The Sovereign of the Ether Falls is a gigantic serpentine creature. Bursting from the waters of the Abyss, it shattered the single continent into countless fragments. This event is known as the Great Cataclysm.
