Aleera, Nightmare-Eater

Death does not exist in Elther. In the Abyss, the dreams and nightmares of the Awakened mingle to purge damned souls: dreams shape new souls, which nightmares then purify. Some corrupted souls nevertheless retain their memories and exploit dream rifts to possess living creatures. Nightmare-Eaters evade the Nightmare Reaper by posing as friends to their prey. Once possession is complete, they mutate their victim until they have seized total control. This scourge is so notorious in Nyevielh that the tale of Aleera, the corrupted little girl, has spread to every household.
